I am wondering whether Steadman Group can run such a poll – but for Kenya.
They may consider adding a category – Worst Place to Work in Kenya

Yeah. many companies in Kenya would be competing for the last position. Bt there are some really nice orgs in Kenya to work for..atleast by the Kenyan standards..
guess i have said nothing so far!
Thanks for stopping by.
One of the best companies to work for in Kenya are CGI (Central Glass Industries), a subsidiary of EABL. I hear they pay well, treat employees well and all that…someone close works there! But the worst must be http://www.kencall.com. Just ask anyone who ever trained or worked at Kencall!
The oldest & the worst company to work with is Kaluworks Group-Poor workers morale and poor renumeration + incompetent expert coo.
you guys should try to workm for AVINASH SHAH & CO. Worst pay, worst working enviroment, bad treatment of staff, an always shouting boss, a single packet of milk for twenty staff, the list contineus
The worst company to work in is a Believing International bank in Kenya that has no respect of employees rights and stuff…………………
You people have not worked in somthing called research international its a proxy of kencall. But so far KQ is the best to work in.
It is true that Kaluworks may be the worst company to work for in Kenya. But think twice!!!!! so many locals depend on this company for their day to day leaving. It is a pity that the company is one of Comcraft group of companies, chairman : Dr. MANU CHANDARIA: Shame shame shame!!!!!!!!!!!!
people, never place an application to an organisation called Tree Biotechnology Programme Trust. its off kiambu road. the pay is dirt, the staff are always being threatened with firing, there is no information flow in the organization and the management loves firing employees. this year alone 10 staff members were fired in an organisation with less than 50 employees. honestly the Labor officers should step in and rescure the poor employees who have little education and poor pay. some one help please!!!
believengly, as a strong victim of Kaluworks mombasa, the company is one of the best in terms of establishments but the problem lise with the unhuman ever shouting coo, who in future wil bring a company well known down crumpling… Manu Chandaria do something.
oxfam is one of the high paying jobs, with a diploma you could earn at least 150,000 bt the problem is you will be posted in remote areas, ie lodwar
is the kenyan worst paying calling centre in kenya and also kencal africa,
when you report to this orgs. they look so excellent let you work for them awhile they treat employees badly, and they overworkthem as they underpay them.
The worst company that does,t pay suppliers after receiving their services is INDO AFRICA KENYA,you should be very careful when dealing with them.
the worst company to work for is Barclays bank of Kenya…
anonymous- victim of ethnic hatred
Barclays Bank is the worst. Full of nepotism, tribal and ethnic cocoons. The old clerks who have raised through the ranks by sleeping with bossess hold to their jobs like shit even at old age. Young and talented loose it all and face LIFO (last in first out) through subjective PD evaluations. Beauties get A grade letters slipped under their thighs and pants in return to sex. GTH
Thanks guys for your information. I’m just to complete my Diploma in Business Adm and i’m therefore gratefull coz al be able to know where to place my application. Incase of any vacancie, please feel free to email me or call me on 0728455895. Thanks in Avance and God bless you abundantly
The worst place to work in kenya is for the local banks especially equity. my dear you work like a donkey with no owner, you work overtime and are never paid for that because its one of these banks yearly targets to maintain overtime expenses at zero.In some cases staff even work on sundays and no one cares the work is just too much. Though a bank like CO-OP BANK is okay though the work is alot the pay is good as a graduate clerk i started with 57,000 gross and there are yearly increaments and bonuses but be ready to WOOOORK AND WORK AND WORK. I also love the culture at co-op its staff friendly and you meet great people. CO-OP bank is wonderful.
Thank you for the great information.. regards- Mike
best company to work for is co-opbank. the pay is ok and there is alot of valuable training and staff motivation.
worst place to work for is Paramount Bank. so much favouritism and such little pay. u remain a trainee for over 2years, become a junior officer for another 5years pay increment is based on how the boss feels and its about 5k max gross
I concur with those who think Co-op Bank is a great employer! I have changed 5 jobs in 5 years part of which I was in Co-op.Call me a job hopper if you like…and I can bet that Co-op Bank is the best employer so far.
Real People(that South African Headquartered Microfinance) is the worst I know;they’ll pose like great employers promising heaven but delivering hell…especially with one of their lady bosses-ex Moi Girls Eldoret whose credentials are threats, tough talk and being unreasonable…Dont even think about the place. The only person here with job security is the poor HR Officer because there will be always need to recruit given the high turnover..eh!
The worst is Dynapharm International they have no respect of employees rights let alone the extra low pay that they offer.
the worst paying is brookside dairy.they have a big name but a graduate can earn as little as ksh12500
Mmm…truth be told!. Entry level jobs r lowly paid in most organizations. Better terms r usually an exception rather than the norm. Be smart n job hop as u get valuable experience n your learning curve shorten, the chums and perks will go north. For majority of us, that is the trajectory. Its a buyer market after all. Keep digging!..
Very elightening. Thanks guys
Ths site is such an eye opener.
One of the companies you should try n secure a job is San Valencia, especially if u are a bachelor, you will eat anything like the CEO and have lots of time outside,
The worst company to work fo is Kenyatta University,so plz as a young abitious pesron aha ull be finished ,No motivation samwan wakes up n feels dat u shd leave n so on.
I have worked at Kaluworks(Still do) and I can assure you all those people saying its a bad company with poor pay are just incompetent and lazy pple. Middle level managers get upto 200K a month as long as they meet the bosses criteria WHICH IS COMPETENCE AND HARD WORK! Sure, one may have to work extra hours but which company in today’s world will give you six figure salaries and expect you not to put in extra hours. PULL UP YOUR SOCKS AND THEN WATCH THE MONEY PILE UP!
you do have a point
It does not hurt to work for any company: good or bad if you are just fresh from college remember you can always Change jobs and employer. By changing your environment, you can increase your pay, experience different corporate cultures and reduce risk. You can do this many times.
If you’re a valued employee, it’s also likely your current company may offer you a raise or other benefits if they know you’re looking at leaving.
The worst place ever is Riverbank sacco never even try. Work like a Donkey ad salary is 3k but still u get like 1k per week. Ad u work from monday to saturday to even 7pm
Fintech is a great place to work, as long as you execute your tasks and accomplish your goals. The environment is conducive and management are friendly and approachable. There’s job security and though the work is overwhelming most times, job satisfaction is a plus. The pay is modest but better compared to other companies in Nairobi. Could do better on remuneration though….
i thot there was a better company than eabl………imma stick my ass so very much herr
equitybank worst employer..unless you are desperate for a job n u r not a graduate definitely keep of applying….they will use u to the last breath.safaricom,co op bank,EABLare good employers though..
Oxfam is the best organization to work for! Best work envi, pay, 0 stress levels and great people, not sure what i was thinking when i left! The only delta is that growth is stunted there.
Thank you all for the insight . I will be graduating on 25th May with a 2nd class honors degree in Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)-Banking & Finance option. I look forward to working in these financial institutions so as to rectify the criticism outlined above. Feel Free to contact me on 0720019086 for networking purposes..keep up the good work- Mike
now i have insight on why BBK teller employees have no motivation to be kind to customers……..its a pity
Multinational IT companies are good to work for, monthly fuel allowance by itself is over 70k.
